For one of our partners in the region of Brussels, we are currently looking for a Junior Wintel System Engineer. You will be part of the level 2 helpdesk and as such work in an operational role supporting an environment of +1000 servers, PC’s and related IT equipment to support the company stores and offices.


  • Establish, maintain and increase client satisfaction through professional, courteous and caring service
  • Act according to ITIL best practices (e.g. change and incident management)
  • Contribute to company vision and direction in helping improve technical practices, as well as choosing key technologies and issues to address
  • Undertake Windows server and client fault investigations using information from multiple sources
  • Secure Windows system by establishing and enforcing policies and administrating and monitoring access
  • Treat incidents reported by monitoring (report and provide solutions for recurring issues)
  • Deployment and configuration of Windows servers
  • Support application experts during installations on Windows servers and clients
  • Liaise with project teams, 3rd line and service desk engineers on a regular basis
  • Build and maintain process and procedures to support L1 helpdesk operations

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Certification in one or more of the technical skills is a plus
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in support and, or helpdesk environment of Wintel related infrastructure
  • Detailed knowledge of Wintel server environments, computer systems architecture and end-user operating systems
  • Conceptual knowledge of networking (proxy servers, reverse proxy servers, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, SAN, NAS, Scripting tools, TCP IP, VLAN, NLB)
  • Good technical knowledge in at least 5 of below platforms and technologies:
    • Windows Server Operating System (all versions)
    • Virtualization technologies (VMware versions 5+, Hyper-V)
    • Active Directory – Group policies and Certificate Services
    • Exchange (versions 2007, 2010), Outlook
    • MS OCS, Lync and, or Windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1
    • Citrix XenApp, Xendesktop, Xenmobile, Sharefile
    • System Center Suite (SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM, SCSM, Orchestrator)
    • Server blade technologies (HP c-Class Blades infrastructure, Cisco UCS)
    • Symantec Altiris and Endpoint Encryption and Protection
    • SharePoint Administration
  • Knowledge of analytical and problem solving techniques
  • Technical writing skills are a must in order to build and maintain knowledge base
  • Responsible, decision making and problem-solving team player with strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills in English
